The Curriculum

The Blossom Nursery curriculum.

We believe in nurturing children to be their best and allowing for their individual personalities to shine through.  At Blossom nursery, our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework to ensure that all our children’s educational needs are met.

Children are encouraged to learn through play and learning is geared towards promoting:

  • Cognitive (mental) development
  • Social skills
  • Physical and creative development
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Language and literacy development
  • Numeracy
  • Scientific and environmental awareness
  • Life skills
  • Problem solving and reasoning
  • Personal and spiritual development
  • Self-awareness
  • The ability to make healthy food choices

Learning is facilitated by the use of activity-based ‘stations’. These are self-contained clearly defined areas in the nursery where children can learn all about a particular aspect of their educational development. Each station is equipped with age-appropriate teaching and learning materials which make learning a pleasure.

Our staff are trained to the highest of standards to ensure that children are learning in the most exciting and effective way possible. We have an excellent teacher to child ratio, which means that each and every child can be given quality time, support and personalised supervision to effectively learn in the most purposeful way.

We take a child-centric approach. This means that we continually monitor and assess each child and tailor their learning so that it is appropriate for their individual circumstances.

The equipment in our Nursery has been specially developed to stimulate imaginative play and develop fine physical (motor) skills in children.
